The GSUS Live trailer is a purpose built mobile
classroom which introduces Jesus' teachings on the themes of Fear,
Forgiveness, and Rejection.
GSUS Live is made available to secondary
schools through local churches and other groups committed to providing
Christian resources in education. Training is given to those from the
local Christian community who will act as presenters and helpers in the
trailer.
Monday, 6:30am and the GSUS Live trailer
is set up in good time for the first lesson
of the day.
At about 9:00am the first class of up to
32 Key Stage 3 pupils enter the trailer for a lesson lasting
up to 60 minutes.
Pupils are seated in pairs at a computer
workstation. Lights are low and a heartbeat plays over the
sound system.
A three minute, fast paced, 3D, large
screen video introduces pupils to the themes of FEAR,
FORGIVENESS & REJECTION.
A presenter further introduces the themes
and explains how to use the computer programme.
Pupils choose a theme and begin to
investigate their choice through the stories of either 'Ben',
'Kylie', or 'Jack'.
Using the computer programme, pupils enter
into correspondence with their character.
The computer programme provides various
resources to help pupils respond to the character's
dilemma.
At various points throughout the
programme, pupils are introduced to what Jesus has to say on
the situation.
After completion of the programme
(approximately 25 minutes), the presenter concludes the lesson
with a review.
Pupils receive a print-out of their
responses and a series of follow-up questions for use in
subsequent lessons.
